Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Arrested Development, among other stars, dead at 80

Martin Mull, an American actor and comedian best known for his roles in the TV shows Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Roseanne and others, died aged 80.
Mull died on Thursday at his home after a “valiant battle against a long illness”, according his daughter Maggie Mull.
In a tribute on Instagram, Ms Mull stated that her father “was known for excelling at every creative discipline and for creating Red Roof Inn ads”.
She continued, “He will find this joke funny.” “He was always funny. “
In 1976, Mull made his first notable appearance in the parody soap opera Mary Hartman Mary Hartman as Garth Gimble. Mull was then offered two other spin-offs, including Fernwood 2 Night.
Clue, the black comedy movie, was inspired by a game board with the same name. He was cast as Colonel Mustard an army officer.
He started to voice the Red Roof Inn advertisements that his daughter mentioned in her tribute.
Mull is most well-known to 1990s television viewers for his role in Roseanne as Leon Carp. He played Willard Kraft on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Mull starred in Arrested Development, a critically acclaimed sitcom as the hapless private detective Gene Parmesan.
He is a guest star on The Simpsons, Family Guy and many other popular TV shows.
Mull’s four-episode part in HBO’s political drama Veep earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in Comedy Series in 2016.
Mull was born to a carpenter father and an actress mother in Chicago, Illinois. Mull began his show business career as a writer, but quickly rose to fame as a comedian and music.
He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1965.
In a recent interview with A.V. The actor said, “Everyone I know has a job.” Either they teach art in a college or are taxi drivers.
He said: “I am lucky to have a job which is both fun and extraordinary. This job also allows me to buy a lot of paint. “
Maggie is his daughter, a television writer. Wendy Haas, an actress and composer whom he had married in 1982 will be also missed.
