Dejounte Murray reportedly is heading to the Big Easy.

According to multiple news , the New Orleans Pelicans acquired Murray as part of a deal with the Atlanta Hawks Friday.

The Hawks received two first-round draft picks in exchange for Murray. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the two firsts will be in 2025 via the Los Angeles Lakers and in 2027 with the least-favorable selection from Milwaukee or New Orleans.

Murray’s two-year stint in Atlanta has been a disappointment. The reported deal ends his disappointing tenure. The Hawks traded three first round picks for Murray, who was an All-Star in San Antonio Spurs’ June 2022 season.

Murray and Trae young, the duo at the backcourt, led to only one short playoff appearance – a loss in the first round of 2023 after a 41-40 regular season. The Hawks missed the playoffs this season, after a 36-46 record.

Murray, who will turn 28 in September 2023-24, averaged 22.5% from the field, 36.3% from 3 and 79.4% at the line. He shot 45.9% on the field, 36.3% at 3 and 79.4% from the line.

Murray has entered the first year of his four-year deal worth $114 million that he signed last July with Atlanta. The 6-foot-5 forward is expected to play next to CJ McCollum in New Orleans’s backcourt. Zion Williamson will be the team’s other frontcourt player, along with Brandon Ingram and Trey Murphy III.

Ingram has, however, been the subject to trade rumors following the Pelicans first-round playoff defeat by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Daniels, ranked No. Daniels, the No. 8 pick for 2022, averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 boards, 2.7 assist and 1.4 steals per game in his 61 games last season. He shot 44.7% on the field, and 31.1% at three.

Nance, 31, who is entering the final season of his contract, averaged 5.7 point, 5.0 rebound and 1.9 assist in 19.9 minute per game over his 61 games last season.

LeBron James and Bronny James will be the first father-son pair to play simultaneously in the NBA.
