Report Former Sixer Tobias Harris to sign two-year contract with the Pistons

In spite of everything, Torrel Harris secures another bag for his son.

If you’re not excited about the Paul George signing because of concerns about how the contract will look a few years down the road, or just because the Philadelphia 76ers have hurt you too many times in the past, let me illustrate how much worse things could be.

The franchise may have to pay $65 million back to someone who was notto be the coach of your team.

The team was able to win just 23 games during any of the last fiveseasons however, they did not pick more than 5th overall during any one of the last three drafts.

Your team may have agreed to sign Tobias Harris for two years and $52 million.

Sorry, Detroit Pistons fans.

It is important to note that this year’s second one is assured with no options.

For quite a while, Tobias Harris ending up in Detroit was a joke at Liberty Ballers and seemed set in the stone. However, when the team ended its relationship with the director Troy Weaver at the end of May and enlisted Trajan Langdon as their new manager, I thought the ship had sailed. It was thought that the franchise would be smarter with their cap spaces. Langdon even stated that the right things about taking advantage of it off on contracts that are not needed to purchase assets. The deal that brought in Tim Hardaway Jr. from Dallas in exchange for three second round picks was a good move in the right direction, though if are a fan of Quentin Grimes you still may not have been thrilled with the deal. For Pistons fans The Harris relationship to Detroit the city where he once played for a few seasons, was not enough.

You know, who was actually bidding against Detroit in this case for Tobias who could be able to offer $26 million a year? It’s Utah’s Danny Ainge is too smart to even consider this. In the simplest sense it’s a question of how to create a second year as a team option that could be seen as the potential for a valuable, huge contract that is due to expire at the deadline for trades in the event that you want to?

To take a look from the opposite side for a second, Harris is a good presence in the locker room. I’m sure there’s worth in his educating the young players how the 401(k) is run and also in establishing an organization for book clubs. He’s also a tough player with the minimum of 70 games the past three years (excepting the COVID-shortened season of 2020-21). He’ll likely average 18 points per game and have decent percentages and there’ll be some evidence that Tobias will be worth the cash that Torrel Harris will be able to use for his Powerpoint presentation day after a new contract negotiations looms around.

However, as anyone who has was a fan of the Sixers during the last few years will know that for every 25-point game Harris has, there’ll be some games in which he’s out taking in exercise (and not hard cardio, but the kind of exercise that you’re trying to pay attentively to the ball’s game running on the treadmill, so you set it at 70 percent). Tobias could be able teach his young players some valuable lessons on his court but also teaching players on the court that it’s possible to for five years without attracting an accusation (officially) or even grabbing an uncontested ball (unofficially however, I’m certain there weren’t too many) and still be paid.

I have no personal resentment towards Tobias Harris and I’m sure some of the funds will go to worthy charitable causes. But, I’m happy to have left this Tobias Harris business and I’m surprised that a different franchise was so eager to join.
