LAFC’s Mateusz Bogusz Named MLS Player Of The Month

LAFC midfielder Mateusz Bogusz has been named MLS Player of the Month for June 2024. Bogusz was the main reason behind an LAFC team that was unbeaten (4W-0L-1D) during June. He recorded minimum one goals during every game of the month. He also recorded nine goals (6g/3a).

LAFC midfielder Mateusz Bogusz has been named MLS Player of the Month for June 2024.

Bogusz was the driving force behind the LAFC team that was unbeaten (4W-0L-1D) during June. He recorded more than one goal during every game of the month. He accumulated nine goal-scoring contributions (6g/3a). The nine goals he scored over the course of a month is tied to Cucho Hernandez from the Columbus Crew for the league top spot. Bogusz is in a tie in the lead with FC Cincinnati midfielder Luciano Acosta the current Landon Donovan MLS MVP, with the longest streak of goals during MLS the current season.

Bogusz finished the month off with his first MLS goal during a 3-0 win against The Colorado Rapids on June 29.

The 22-year old is in the midst of an impressive campaign in the second year at the club, scoring the score of 12 scores (4 matches winner) as well as five assists across 20 games. The Polish midfielder has scored nine points and 4 assists on his nine-match goal scoring streak, which has helped LAFC to remain without a loss (8W-0L-1D) over the same time frame.

Bogusz who recorded three goals in two consecutive games in the games against San Jose (2g/1a) and Colorado (3g) Bogusz was the 4th LAFC player to be awarded Player of the Month. He is joined by Denis Bouanga, Adama Diomande and Carlos Vela (three times). He as well as Piotr Nowak (May 1998) are the only Polish players in MLS time to be awarded the honor.
