actor also known as Los Angeles native Danny Trejo was involved in a brawl during the Independence Day Parade in L.A.’s Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood, which was recorded on video.
Witnesses have claimed Trejo was driving a car that was vintage at the time a person in the crowd hurled the balloon at him and landed on the car. It it exploded in flames.
A few videos on social media show Trejo aged 80 getting out of his car with his parents and children and walking along the sidewalk before throwing a hook at the man who was inside a tent.
Trejo was in a position to fight back and dropped Trejo down but Trejo quickly got up and attempted to hit the man with the folded chair.
The videos showcase the other fighters in the battle and Trejo was confined to a cell. restricted.
“There’s children here! There are kids in here!” One person yelled. The scene was tense for a few minutes when fists stopped throwing.
“[Trejo] pushed women out of the way to get to those guys,” Sunland-Tujunga resident James Spishak told The Los Angeles Times. “There were children playing in the region. This might have proved be very ugly. It would never have happened if he’d kept his vehicle. “
Sources within law enforcement have told the TMZ they believed that the crowd dispersed following the arrival of officers. No arrests were made and no injuries spotted.
Trejo is former criminal who often plays tough characters in movies like”Machete” “Machete” franchise, “From Dusk Till Dawn,” and “Once Upon a Time in Mexico,” has leveraged his acting talent into a variety of areas.
In recent years Trejo launched restaurants, donut stores, cafes and even launched an alcohol label. He has also released his autobiography ” Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood,” in 2021. He’s also been recognized for his efforts in the community, and is a regular guest on KTLA 5 News.
In an interview interview in a conversation with TMZ, Trejo called the parade incident “childish” and said those who threw the balloons towards him were “cowards. “
KTLA reached out to Trejo’s Management, but hasn’t received any response.
