U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, a Californian Republican. The congresswoman appeared on July 9 for “CNN NewsNight” to discuss Biden’s presidential candidacy. When anchor Abby Phillip asked about the Democratic strategy to beat the former president Donald Trump, Waters altered her locks for around 20 seconds before saying, “I think we need to keep working and work harder.”

The 10th of July Instagram post combined that event with another from a few years ago that featured another CNN anchor.

The Instagram video appears like the former CNN anchor Don Lemon was conducting the interview, and was laughing while Waters altered her wig. The video featured the voiceover that reads “What’s Don laughing at?” as well as “Can we get hair and makeup in for Maxine’s wig please?”

“BREAKING: CNN producer caught on hot mic dealing with Maxine Water’s wig problem,” the text in the clip reads.

The voice wasn’t the voice of a CNN production team, rather it was rather a commentator from @stevenvoiceover. of @stevenvoiceover.

The Lemon clip was adapted from the Feb. Episode on “Don Lemon Tonight.” Lemon was dismissed in 2023 by CNN laughed after the political analyst Symone Sanders-Townsend remarked regarding Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former Trump administration employee.

“Don. It’s Black History Month, we gotta talk about Omarosa?” Sanders-Townsend stated. “Carter G. Woodson did not go to the mat to get Negro History Week that eventually turned into Black History Month for us to talk about Omarosa and her apology tour and her attempt to salvage her reputation on a reality television show.”

Sanders was left Lemon laughing for quite a while before he was able to regain his calm.

Newman who was an ex- “The Apprentice” contestant, was removed in 2017 by the Trump administration, and then ceremonially dismissed from the first season of the show. She later said on “Celebrity Big Brother” that she was “haunted” by Trump’s tweets daily.

We are not convinced that an CNN producer was on a hot mic talking about Waters the recent interview.
