Céline Dion’s performance from the Eiffel Tower during the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony Friday is proof that the heart will go on.
Dion who hadn’t been on stage since 2020, owing to her struggle with stiff-person’s syndrome stunned the world by her miraculous return to the stage.

“Power of Love “Power of Love” singer sang “Hymne a l’amour” by the French singer Edith Piaf from the base of the Eiffel Tower in an instantly famous moment.
Celine Dion, the Grammy-winning artist recently shared her struggle of stiff-person syndrome on her Amazon Prime Video documentary, “I Am: Celine Dion,” in which it was discovered that the French-Canadian of 56 almost passed away from the illness.
In this documentary Dion declares that she’s made significant improvements since the initial days of diagnosis and that returning to performing and singing is her primary motivation to overcome her illness.
“It’s not hard to do a show now, it’s hard to cancel a show,” Dion stated. “I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit — it’s been a struggle. I miss it so much. The people. I miss them. If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk. I’ll crawl. I won’t stop.”
Other performers on Saturday’s Open Ceremony were Lady Gaga and French-Malian pop star Aya Nakamura.
The performance of Dion was the culmination at Dion’s performance marked the end of Opening Ceremony and the beginning of the Olympic Games, and it could be the beginning of a comeback in music also.
