Magnitude-4.9 Barstow earthquake and aftershocks shake areas of Southern California
The shaking was felt throughout the vast areas across Southern California, including Los Angeles.

A magnitude-4.9 earthquake, along with at least two subsequent earthquakes were recorded on this afternoon, in the Barstow region north from Los Angeles.
aftershocks that were between magnitude-3.5 and 2.8 were observed following the quake located in Mojave desert in San Bernardino County. As per the USGS website, shaking was felt in Los Angeles, Pasadena, Glendale, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Chino, Universal City, Claremont and other areas.
The fault that causes earthquakes closest to the epicenter is called the Calico Fault that runs through the desert.
There are none immediate indications of any damage.
Barstow is located about 100 miles to the northeast to Los Angeles.
