What’s better than a day of skating in Paris? What about skating in Paris with the bronze medal that you got during the Olympics.
That’s exactly what Laguna Beach’s Nyjah Huston did on Monday after securing bronze in an extremely competitive street competition at the French capital. Huston uploaded a video from the point of view of himself skating through the Parisian street, with his bronze medal in his hand and enjoying a moment of silence after being at the center of attention.
Team America’s Jagger Eaton as well as Nyjah Huston clinched podium spots ahead of Japan’s Yuto Horigome. Both skaters were able to speak about their skating afterward.
“That was a great moment that I had,” Huston said. “After every media event, getting finished and being tested I was skateboarding down the street and taking in the experience. The video showed the street skater that is me.
“I’m supposed to become a skateboarder and I’m thrilled to be an avid skateboarder. Naturally, having stuff like this is fantastic but making a living from something that we love most is the best thing.”
Huston was third (279.38) just behind U.S. teammate Jagger Eaton (281.04) Jagger Eaton (281.04) from Cardiff. Japanese’s Yuto Horigome (281.14) was the winner, who did well to defend his medal.
Huston 29, who is 29 years old, was a step up from a seventh-place finishing in Tokyo.
