The speculation about a unexpected performance from Beyonce during the Democratic National Convention reached a high-speed rumble on Thursday, after TMZ reported that she was scheduled to perform, but the singer did not appear on stage during the event. vice president Kamala Harris closed out Thursday evening.

Rumors of Beyonce were circulating for days however, they exploded on Thursday when TMZ said that she was scheduled to appear on the final morning of the Chicago convention according to anonymous sources.
After the TMZ report, an unidentified Beyonce representative informed The Hollywood Reporter “the report of a performance is untrue” and that she did not plan to attend the event in addition, The Washington Post reported that a source who had met with organizers of the convention who said there was no particular guest, be it Beyonce or not, planned for Thursday.
Beyonce — who had previously not endorsed Harris like she had done Joe Biden in 2020, Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Barack Obama in 2012 – gave the Harris-Walz campaign exclusivity rights for the use of her hit song “Freedom,” which has been Harris the song she used to walk out at rallies for the campaign.
The possibility of a Beyonce performance was the subject of intense speculation throughout the week. White House director Emily Ruiz fueled the rumors earlier on Thursday tweeting one bee emoji that was a subtle hint at Beyonce’s “BeyHive,” as Beyonce’s fans are known. She and then tweeted “sorry guys my 6 year old took my phone.”
The next day, Democratic Party Chair Jaime Harrison did not confirm or confirm on CBS Mornings that the pop star was scheduled to perform, but instead said “Everyday, she’s in here singing ‘Freedom.'”

What To Watch For
The less serious rumors concerning Beyonce’s performance–about a possible Taylor Swift performance–have also been going around throughout Chicago during this time. Swift was a Biden supporter who has also endorsed his presidential campaign in 2020 and backed Democratic candidates in recent times but has not yet made an endorsement in the current presidential race.
