Labor Day is on Monday, September 2. The holiday is the unofficial closing of summer 2024.
As students prepare to go into school for the first time, a lot of Americans are taking advantage of one last weekend to have a summer barbecue, or go on a beach vacation.
The first Monday of September celebrates this celebration of the American workers’ protests and the contributions that workers have contributed in their part in the US economy.
This does not mean Americans don’t have any errands to do, whether it’s taking a trip to the bank, or picking up an last-minute item at the grocery store.
This is what’s open and shut this Labor Day 2024.
Retail stores
People who have to go to the shop will have a good time. A majority of stores fall that are under Kroger (which includes Kroger, Ralphs, Dillons, Smith’s, King Soopers, Fry’s, QFC, City Market, Owen’s, Jay C, Pay Less, Baker’s, Gerbes, Harris Teeter, Pick ‘n Save, Metro Market, Mariano’s, Fred Meyer and Food 4 Less — will be open at normal hours.
Major retailers like Walmart (WMT) and Target will continue to operate like normal.
The majority of CVS (CVS) pharmacies are open, however certain local stores may be restricted. Walgreens stores will remain open during regular hours during Labor Day, but the majority of pharmacies will remain closed, with the exception of 24-hour pharmacies and a few pharmacies.
In addition, the retail wholesaler Costco (COST) will close.
Post office
Don’t plan to send mail via the United States Postal Service on Monday as the service will be shut.
