Scottie Scheffler, the man who has earned more than anyone else PGA Tour player this season is talking about money.

It’s a hot subject in golf, obviously, and on Tuesday before the Tour Championship The highest-paying tournament on the Tour, Scheffler had been asked by an interviewer:

“If you were the Tour was offered to you -and you agreed to follow the rules of the sponsors. it. In the event that sponsors, of the Tour or Strategic Sports Group came in and asked to completely change the rules and make it an event that is played in match play or even under lights What would be the most open consider Tour athletes would react departing from the 72-hole stroke game? Not every week however, in a situation similar to an event where they reached the playoffs, and then took a step outside of the box ?”

Then, Scheffler described the conversation “a really in-depth conversation,” and the rest of his response was in line with that.

He said he would like to receive a fair amount of money. He claimed he didn’t care about what he would get from being the winner of at the Masters.

Here’s his full response:

“Well, it’s a really in-depth conversation,” Scheffler began. “At the conclusion of the day in regards to sponsors I’d participate in many of the tournaments I play during the year if the prize money were considerably less. I’d choose to play some more than I do, but if it’s the Masters I’m definitely going to participate in the Masters. I’d like to take home a major title. I don’t care how much you will pay me to win the Masters. I don’t really care.

“But at the end of the day, in the case of many of these tournaments, you want to be the amount you believe to be fair. In terms of what sponsors are looking for If you’ve had FedEx providing the amount of cash they’re offering for this event, players are likely to turn at the event to take part.

“It’s an enterprise that’s for sure. It’s an aspect of what we do. It’s a product which is loved by a large number of people. It’s a form of entertainment however at the end of the day, I’m still at my golf clubs. It will be my source of entertainment. If you’d like to and watch the game of golf with me, then that’s what you’re going to be watching. If you’re coming and you’re interested in watching my golf. I’m not planning to go out on the first tee, perform dance moves and party in a wild way. I’m going to try my best in a golf event. Wherever the top players are playing in, I’ll be going to these tournaments because I am a fan of the competition. It’s what I really enjoy most.

“As it pertains to the rules are concerned golf is a fun game. There’s no guarantee that you’ll win have a best way to win a golf tournament which is the most enjoyable experience and one which will attract the best player every time. In golf, the player who performs the best might not win the week. With regards to little bounces, it’s an unpredictable game. It’s an extremely challenging game. We’re open for suggestions. I still believe that 72 rounds of stroke-play are the ideal form for a golf event however, should a sponsor want to join in and shake the format a more, I’m always looking forward to competing and want to be the winner when we go home, and we play Wolf for 4 hours and I’m willing to give 20 strokes to someone.

“I am not going to give him money towards the close of business, whether it’s $500 or $5. I don’t want to open my wallet to give him money at the close to the work day. This isn’t for me. I’m always looking to win no matter if we’re playing PingPong or anything else.

“Whatever the style, I’ll be there to be the best I can. This is all there is.”
