A former NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones, a Super Bowl star for the Ravens was pronounced dead at the age of 40.

Former NFL receiver Jacoby Jones, whose 108-yard kickoff return in 2013 remains the longest touchdown in Super Bowl history, has died. He was 40.
The Houston Texans, Jones’ team during the initial five years of Jones’ career announced his death on Sunday. There was no announcement immediately as to the cause of his death.
Jones was a player from 2007 to 2015 from 2007 to 2015 for between 2007 and 2015 for the Texans, Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers He also played in a number of big games for the Ravens in the most recent Super Bowl title season.
Jones was an integral element of Baltimore’s “Mile High Miracle” in an NFL game against Denver on January 13, 2013. He nabbed the 70-yard touchdown pass in the final 31 seconds at the end of fourth quarter, to bring the score to. The Ravens ultimately prevailed in double overtime.
The Super Bowl that postseason against the San Francisco 49ers, Jones caught a 56-yard TD catch from the eventual MVP of the game Joe Flacco. Then Jones raced for 108 yards into the end zone for the start of the second half and give Baltimore an advantage of 28-6. The Ravens kept their lead to secure a 34-31 win.
The Super Bowl was played in New Orleans, where Jones was raised.
“My most memorable football moment was the time Jacoby talked to his mother at the sideline prior to a late kickoff returned against the Vikings in a shootout that was snagged by snow. Jacoby ran to catch the ball, and take it back to score an important touchdown,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated in a statement. “My favorite Jacoby personal moment was every time I saw his smiling face full of joy.”
Jones was named to Jones’s Associated Press All-Pro team as an kick returner for 2012. Then his appearance in “Dancing With The Stars.”
“Jacoby was one of the most fun-loving teammates and people I’ve ever been around,” former Texans quarterback J.J. Watt said on social media. “Always smiling and dancing with a perpetual smile in his eyes. Gone far, far too soon.”
