Alex Pereira, Raquel Pennington will defend their the titles of UFC 307

Champion of light heavyweight Alex Pereira will seek his third victory this year as He will take on Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main fight at UFC 307.

Two title fights are set to headline UFC 307 on Oct. 5, UFC CEO Dana White announced Friday.

Heavyweight light champion Alex Pereira will be looking to defend his title for the third time this year, when he takes on Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main fight in UFC 307 inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

A women’s bantamweight title bout with the champion Raquel Pennington and Julianna Pena will co-headline the event.

Pereira (11-2) Pereira (11-2), from Brazil is having an incredible year. He’s already knocked off two champions from the past this year in UFC 300 and UFC 303 and teased a possible shift to heavyweight in the near future.

He will be taking on an opponent from the same sport in Rountree (19-5) who hasn’t fought since 2024, but has just come from a stunning knockout victory against Anthony Smith in December.

Pennington (16-8) will try to extend her winning streak by beating Pena (10-5) who is the former champion who hasn’t wrestled since she relinquished the title in a quick match with Amanda Nunes in July 2022. Pena was awarded the belt by a stunning upset over Nunes in 2021. However, she was dealt a narrow loss in the much-anticipated match.

The card will also feature the former PFL lightweight champ Kayla Harrison fighting Ketlen Vieira. Harrison is likely to face Vieira, the victor of the main event an upcoming title bout in the event she beats Vieira.
