With Deadpool & Wolverine playing in theaters for three weeks, Marvel’s concept artists have begun to reveal the concept art pieces they worked on during the initial stages of the film. A recent artwork revealed the cut cameos of Ben Affleck’s Daredevil and Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider. Now, another artist has revealed alternate designs of Henry Cavill’s Wolverine cameo, aka The Cavillrine in the third Deadpool movie.

The latest Henry Cavill art pieces show alternative Cavillrine comeos

in Deadpool & Wolverine, Henry Cavill’s Cavillrine version mirrored Hugh Jackman’s style from his appearances during the late 2000s. Deadpool was in his world while he fixed his motorcycle smoking a cigar, in true Wolverine style. Additionally, Cavill sported the iconic Wolverine mutton chops, white west and a jeans style.

Cavill’s Wolverine appearance was very like Hugh Jackman’s appearance from X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a host of different Fox Marvel films. However the designer Wesley Burt came up with several other concept art concepts that would be suitable for Cavillrine of Deadpool & Wolverine. He has now shared the designs through X (previously twitter):

In addition to the appearance Henry Cavill ultimately donned in Deadpool & Wolverine, he could have wore an outfit that resembled Hugh Jackman’s debut solo appearance as Wolverine in 2009. However, Marvel ended up choosing the most well-known Wolverine style for him to wear and it also gave a great impression to his sleek body.

Following the MCU debut in the MCU, Cavill revealed his bald-headed Wolverine appearance in a post on Instagram and fired straight shots towards DC for the things he experienced when he was in Justice League reshoots. Additionally the director Shawn Levy told Variety that the former Superman actor did not waste time in assuming his Marvel role.

Levy stated:

“I knew it was undeniable as soon as Ryan came up with that term,” in reference to Reynolds calling”the Henry Cavill Wolverine variant as “Cavillrine.” The director continued to reveal Cavill’s response when they contacted Cavill. Levy said:

“He accepted instantly because he was certain that it would be subversive and fun. It was also done with lots of love for his work and the art work, and taking his legacy into consideration as an DC hero, now that he’s being portrayed as an alternative to the Marvel superhero.”

If Henry Cavill gets to reprise this role in the future MCU films remains to observed.
