Comedy and actor Erica Ash has died at 46 years old. She was known best for MADtv as well as the sitcom Survivor’s Revenge as well as The Big Gay Sketch Show.

Actor, comedian, singer as well as model Erica Ash has died at age 46. She was known best for her work on MadTV and the sitcom “Survivor’s Remorse and Rosie O’Donnell’s The Big Gay Sketch Show and the Kevin Hart series Real Husbands from Hollywood.

“After an extremely long and brave fight of cancer, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family members,” reads a statement from her family members, and shared by NPR the publicist for Ash. “Erica was a remarkable person and a gifted entertainer who touched many lives by her sharp wit, laughter, and genuine enthusiasm for life. Her legacy will be forever on in the hearts of all who knew her.”

Ash started her career on stage with credits such as the show Baby It’s Your on Broadway as well as an off-Broadway Disney tour production The Lion King and Off-Broadway’s show Soul Doctor.

Being the child of an U.S. Army Captain/Chaplain, and math teacher, Ash traveled a lot throughout her childhood, and even visiting Germany. Ash graduated at Emory University with a premed degree. She was also fascinated by performance as a young girl. After Emory was born, she moved to Japan and pursued an acting career as a model or singer, as well as an actor.

Of the many artists who made a the tribute of Ash, Siedah Garrett writes: “Moved in tears over the passing of a beautiful talented, funny and talented actor from”Survivor’s Remorse… Erica graciously collaborated with me in a jailhouse-themed original skit I presented the show to Netflix.”

“Erica Ash has been a bright. Gorgeous, hilarious, and beyond skilled,” writes Christopher Landon, who directed Ash in the film “We’ve Got A Ghost.”, “I was blessed to have worked with her and consider her my friend. My heart is with the family members and her friends today.”
