GAME RECAP–Aces Take Down Fever 88-69, Upping Winning Streak to 5 Games
LAS VEGAS (July 2, 2024)–The Las Vegas Aces (11-6) extended their winning streak up to 5 games by sweeping 88-69 against Indiana Fever (8-13) Indiana Fever (8-13) at home on Tuesday evening in T-Mobile Arena.
LAS VEGAS (July 2, 2024)— The Las Vegas Aces (11-6) extended their winning streak to 5 games with an 88-69 defeat of the Indiana Fever (8-13) at home Tuesday night in T-Mobile Arena. Kelsey Plum scored a game-high 34 points to lead the Aces in scoring, while A’ja Wilson added 28 points and 9 rebounds, Jackie Young had a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists and Kiah Stokes grabbed a team-best 12 boards.
Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 23 points. Caitlin Clark scored 11 assists and 13 points.

First Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 26, Indiana 24)
The Aces were up 9-3 at the start of the game however, six consecutive points shots from the Fever made it even at 9. The Fever had a 13-11 advantage halfway through the quarter but following an Plum 3 pointer at 4:06, the Fever did not lead again during the game. Plum was the leader for the Aces with nine points, and Mitchell also scored 9 points to lead the Fever. Both teams made 42.9 percent on their field shots. the Aces were 6-14 as well as Mitchell was 6-14 and Fever nine of 21. The Aces shot 12 of 13 shots from the line, while the Fever scored 5-5 on the line of charity.
Second Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 46, Indiana 37)
The Fever were within two points at 6:31. However, the Aces gradually grew their advantage to 10, 44-34 with just 1:43 remaining before halftime. They walked into the locker room ahead by 9 points ahead. Wilson led all scorers during the game with 10 points. Aliyah Boston’s four points led Indiana. The Aces scored 9 of 19 shots from the field, and 2 of 5 with 3-pointers as well, while Indiana had six of 18 field goal attempts, and one of seven from the distance.
Third Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 65, Indiana 59)
The Aces extended their advantage to eleven in the third quarter before in the third quarter, Fever scored the next six points to cut it down to 49-44. The lead remained in single digits throughout the rest of the game. In the end, Fever beat Aces 16-7. Aces 16-7. Indiana committed four turnovers that resulted in the Aces transformed into eight points. The Fever did not turn any of Las Vegas”s mistakes into points. Plum as well as Young scored 7 and 8 points respectively. In the Fever was led by eight points from Caitlin Clark.
Fourth Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 88, Indiana 69)
A 12-0 streak over the first four minute of the closing quarter 10, of which were scored by Plum which put to bed any doubts for the Fever had. The Aces beat the Fever 23-10 during the quarter with a score of 47.4 percent from the field and limiting Indiana to 26.7 percent of their field goals. Plum completed scoring 12 in the period while Mitchell scored 6 points in the Fever.

The year 2022 saw three police officers were indicted federally for conspiracy and obstruction of justice and violations of civil rights. One of them was later found guilty of two charges of conspiracy, resulting in an initial conviction. Another officer was scheduled for trial on October 30th 2023. However, the jury was unable decide on a verdict, and the trial was adjourned to a mistrial. The charges were retracted and a second trial was scheduled to take place on the 14th of October 2024.
The ACLU is currently monitoring 527 bills that are anti-LGBTQ+ within the United States, up from 515 in the first week in 2024’s WNBA season.
The Aces scored 15-for-17 from the free-throw line, and Indiana did 7 for 13.
Las Vegas made 9 of 25 (.360) 3-pointers, whereas the Fever scored only 6 out of 26 (.231). The Aces also scored 45.1 percentage of field shots (32 to 71)) while Indiana shot 36.4 percent of their field goals (28 in 77)
Las Vegas turned 16 Fever mistakes into 19 points while Indiana turned 10 Aces mistakes into six points.
The Fever beat their Aces 44-38, which included 13-7 at the offensive end and beat the Aces 21-12 in second-chance points.
GAME NOTES
Wilson has racked up 9 rebounds. She she now has 1,823 points for her career. She’s within three boards of achieving 33rd on the record of WNBA’s career rebound list (Wendy Palmer 1,825). Natalie Williams (32nd, 1832), Plenette Pierson (31st 1834) along with Cheryl Ford (30th, 1,907) are the next on the list.
Wilson has blocked five shots, and is now averaging 385 in her career, which is tied with Tamika The Catchings record is the 14th highest number in WNBA the history of the league. Tina Charles is 13th with 395.
Gray has given out four assists. She now she has 1,520 assists in her career, which is the 9th highest ever in WNBA record. Cappie Pondexter ranks 8th on the list, with 1,578.
Plum began the game with a career total of 2,968 points. She also got her 3,000th score with an eight-foot driving floating, with just 6:07 left during the match. She has now scored 3,002 points in her career.
Her 34 points were the first time she’s scored at or below 30 points in the current season, and sixth time in her career.
Young’s double-double of 15 points and 10 assists is her third point-assist double-double during the season. It’s also her the third of her career.
The Aces hosted 20,366 fans at T-Mobile Arena, which is the fifth-highest attendance event during WNBA the regular-season history, and the highest attendance since 1999. The eight of the franchise’s top ten attendance figures since their move from Las Vegas have come in 2024.
Aces were without a coach. Aces did not have the assistance from Tiffany Hayes who wasn’t on Team (personal).
