Jake Paul registers sixth-round TKO victory over Mike Perry
Jake Paul scored a sixth-round TKO victory over bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry on Saturday night in Tampa, Florida, in an eight-round boxing match for cruiserweight and, with the victory the fighter continued his November. 15 fight against veteran 58 year old Mike Tyson.

Jake Paul scored a sixth-round TKO victory over bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry on Saturday in Tampa, Florida, in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing match.
The victory ensured Paul kept his November. 15 match against aged 58 Mike Tyson that was originally set for the same night. Paul was a social media star who turned boxer, smashed Perry at least three times, before the judge stopped the match at 1:12 in Round 6.
“He’s tough as nails … but I just hit too hard and he took a lot of damage,” Paul stated. “Mike Tyson, you’re next. … It’s anyone, anytime, anyplace.”
Paul who was a -475-point favorite according to ESPN BET, said he was sick prior to the fight, and the knuckle he was holding “basically broken.”
Perry who is 32, is the most recent Former UFC fighter to lose to Paul. Paul (10-1 seven KOs) also beat Tyron Woodley Nate Diaz and Ben Askren. Paul 27, who is 27 years old, was significantly bigger and had a height advantage of 3 inches. Perry (0-2) from Orlando, Florida, fights at 175 pounds in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
Paul from Cleveland was able to score a stunning knockdown in the first round, using his chopping right hand. He honed in on the action from a distance using his impressive technique and footwork.
A jab set the stage for an right hand that landed on Perry for 30 seconds before Round 2. Perry returned with a powerful Round 3 and slit the left eye. However, by Round 4 the fight was Paul who again took the lead in the fight. He dragged Perry to the ropes with variations on a number of occasions prior to the final sequence.
“You did a great job, you were way too fast for me and I couldn’t adjust,” Perry stated. “ … He’s not just waiting to be hit as me.”
Perry’s previous bout was a fourth round KO defeat to a the journeyman Kenneth McNeil in May 2015. Perry was able to make his UFC debut a year after. Perry’s MMA records are 14-8. Eight of his losses were within the UFC (he was in 14 fights all in the Octagon and was never a challenger to his title.)
Perry’s BKFC record is 5-0, and Perry’s last fight took place in April.
Paul is expected to take on a heavyweight fight that will last eight rounds with Tyson on November. 15. The date is in Arlington, Texas, where they’ll be wearing 14-ounce gloves.
Tyson has withdrawn from the main event which will be streamed via Netflix after the incident with his ulcer. on a plane in May.
The victory on Saturday was Paul’s second fight in 2024. Paul scored a first-round knockout of fellow journeyman Ryan Bourland in March in Puerto Rico.
“In two years I will be the cruiserweight champion of the f—ing world,” Paul declared. “I’m way sharper, cleaner. I think he hit me with like one shot tonight. … It’s back to the drawing board and I’m going to just keep getting better.”
Serrano scores TKO 2, moves onto Taylor rematch
Amanda Serrano scored a second-round TKO victory against. the slack Stevie Morgan in the junior co-feature welterweight, which set the stage for an Nov. 15 match with Katie Taylor.
Serrano, who was a former seven division champion, was able to land at will against Morgan who was competing at the top of the ladder at first. In Puerto Rico, Serrano (47-2-1 31 KOs) defeated Tampa’s Morgan (14-2 13 KOs) repeatedly and was a tiger to her opponent of 35 until the referee intervened.
“I think these girls mistake my kindness for weakness,” said Serrano the ESPN’s No. 3 boxer pound for pound. ” … If you not on my level, that’s what happens. … I know she didn’t have the experience, I know this might have been a little too much for her.”
Serrano took on her opponent for the very first time in October in which she defeated Danila Ramos. Serrano was afflicted by an allergic reaction to her eyes from hair braiding gel, which wiped out the Puerto Rico homecoming main event in March.
Serrano will now move on to the rematch against Taylor for the coveted junior welterweight title. They fought in April 2022 in the New York’s Madison Square Garden in the most prestigious fight in women’s boxing history.
Taylor (23-1 (6 Taylor, 23-1, 6) was victorious in the fight via a split decision and retained the title of lightweight champion undisputed. The fight was initially scheduled for May 2023 in Dublin prior to when Serrano was injured.
Taylor, a 35-year-old Irishwoman, is ESPN’s No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer.
“Can’t wait to go in there with you once again,” Serrano declared. “ … This time, it’s going be different.”
