FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) – Like everything around Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, his new blonde hair cut was the talk of the internet when he arrived for training camp on Tuesday.
Images of the new Burrow look were swiftly shared on social media and the internet. The person who designed Burrow’s latest appearance, Darnell Bonner of Nell’s Barbershop in Florence told us that his most famous client was the one who discarded the idea in the previous cut.
“He sprung it up on me one day,” Bonner stated. “I was like listen, if you’re ready, we’ll do it, I’m down.”
Bonner believes that his customers view their hair as a part of their own.
“Hair is definitely an extension of who you are,” Bonner stated. “Kind of a representation of what you would like your image to portray. In his case, that you’re not sure what’s going to happen next.”
While Burrow isn’t a follower of fashions, he has set these trends.
“We’re going to be flooded with the Burrow bleached buzz cut,” Bonner stated. “It’s not just a bleached buzz, it’s now it’s the Burrow bleached buzz. I’m anticipating a huge surge of that, so we’ll need to alter our plans slightly to accommodate the excess. I’m sure it will come.”
Bonner stated that anyone considering buying the Burrow style should be aware of the best way to wear it.
“You got to rock it,” Bonner stated. “You must be confident in rocking it regardless of what you’re doing. In the present, everyone is creating something different. Everybody is doing something personal, so individual. So, go for it. Be proud of it.
Bonner started cutting hair when he’s young and was not in what he describes as necessity.
“I had a white stepdad,” Bonner stated. “He was always giving me his white man’s cut and all my black friends would laugh at my hair, and I decided to learn how to chop my hair myself. Then I became obsessed with it. My friends were constantly asking”Can you cut me up prior to school? Could you slice me before we leave What do you think?”
