PLAYER OF THE DAY: DE Trey Hendrickson .
Bengals defense coach Lou Anarumo walked off the practice field on Tuesday after watching Hendrickson create his own kind of destruction.
“That’s the way he plays. One of the best athletes in the league. I have a deep affection for his style,” Anarumo said. “A very rare player at the position. We had a wonderful day. He had a great day.”
The defense shut down the offense on Tuesday during time periods for the team. Hendrickson’s constant pursuit of the quarterback Joe Burrow was the main reason for that.
Hendrickson’s second padding practice, which meant that it was his first Pro Bowl scrum with left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. officially started. When Kicker Evan McPherson was close to completing the workout with his arrows quiver for field goals Brown as well as Hendrickson went over the line. They went over the method and the results from the practice.
“He’s trying new stuff, I’m trying new stuff,” Brown stated. “Sharpen each other’s sword. It’s something we talk about all the time. It’s getting better together. He’s one of the best in the league at what he does. I feel like I am as well. We’ve got that clear understanding where every day is going be competitive.”
Nothing nasty. There’s no teasing or celebrations. This is not the case With the seven Pro Bowl selections between them.
“If I screw up and have a question, I’ll ask him and he’ll do the same thing,” Brown said.
They don’t let one another know what they are planning to do prior to practice. However, after practicing either on the fields or inside the room they start to discuss while they perform the initial dance within hands, in rips swimming, and so on.
Brown said that Hendrickson’s get off and counter-moves as well as his transfer ability make him a top pass rusher. This that, consequently, make Brown an improved left tackle.
Hendrickson was busy Tuesday Hendrickson had a great day, and Brown is aware of the fact that his day isn’t far away.
“That’s part of the ball. The fluctuations and peaks in training camp. This is part of the process,” Brown said. “There’ll be instances when he’s winning the fight, and I’m dominant but there will be times when we’ll be split up.”
