White Sox stun Yankees 12-2 to earn the first win of Grady Sizemore’s career.

CHICAGO Chicago Gavin Sheets matched a career record for hits with four and scored four runs. Korey Lee, and Brooks Baldwin homered and the Chicago White Sox gave interim manager Grady Sizemore his first win beating on the New York Yankees 12-2 Monday night following a loss of to them 24-25.
The White Sox set season highs for runs, and had 18 hits following a loss in the first two games of Sizemore who was appointed after they fired the White Sox fired Pedro Grifol on Thursday. They lost three consecutive games following their win over Oakland to end an unbeaten streak of 21 games, which was the American League record.
The White Sox entered the day with the most disappointing record in MLB and the Yankees started the day with a sliver of the most successful record. Based on the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the first time since. 27th, 1934 that the team with the worst record of MLB beat that team sporting the most successful record by more than 10 runs in the month of July, or even later. The winning team on that game was White Sox, who blanked the Detroit Tigers 11-0. This is the only two times that it has been seen in the last 100 years.
“It was amazing, so much fun,” Sizemore declared in his postgame press presence. “These last few games, I’m just so proud of these guys, the way they played. The energy, just everything, I know I just keep saying the same thing. But I just couldn’t be happier for the guys.”
Lee made contact, which triggered an unbeaten fourth inning against Yankees pitcher Luis Gil. Baldwin completed a seven-run seventh with three-run run to Enyel de Los Santos which made it 11-2.
Sheets scored RBI doubles in a 2-run first inning, then during the 5th in the fifth against Tim Hill and in the seventh against De Los Santos. Sheets also scored in the seventh inning off a single that was hit by Dominic Fletcher and hit a single during the 8th.
Andrew Vaughn had four hits and scored two times to help to help the White Sox take out a team that finished third place with and tied with the Baltimore Orioles for the most successful record in baseball.
“I’m glad they’ve just been showing up,” Sizemore stated. “They’re coming to play, they’re playing hard and they’re battling. It was just a great team effort.”
In New York, Aaron Judge doubled in in the first game against the rookie Ky Bush. He was just a few feet away from his 300th homer along with a grand Slam, when the fly hit him on the caution track during the third.
Bush permitted two hits and two runs over 4 2/3 innings during his second Major League start. Left-handed pitcher, 24, took seven walks while throwing 97 innings following losing to Oakland in his first appearance.
Touki Toussaint (1-2) won in relief, registering four outs.
Gil (12-6) pitched 99 pitches over four innings and gave up seven hits and four runs. Right-handed pitcher Gil, 26, took two walks.
“Every time you lose, it’s a missed opportunity,” New York manager Aaron Boone declared. “We’re playing for a lot every day, so it’s sucks to lose. It’s really good, exhilarating when you win, but either way, you turn the page.”
